Brown Spots On Back, Inner Thighs, Knees And Stomach. What Could They Be?

i am a female, i have brown spots on my back, inner thighs, back of my knees, and sort of on my stomach . they are slighty raised above my skin. i had them when i was about ten, they whent away after a while, now i am 19 and they have come back much worse, and it has been over a year since they have come back and are getting much worse. some times if i rub on them they get a little lighter. what could they be

Hello and welcome to HCM
Pigmented spots all over the body indicates an abnormality or a proliferation of melanocytes/ pigment containing cells in skin.
Some of the pigmented lesions are present since birth and they are commonly known as moles.
Majority of the moles are benign and are called naevus.
Any change in size, shape or color of these moles should be promptly reported to the doctor.
These type of changes can be due to malignant change in the moles.

You have mentioned that there is re-appearance of the brown spots/ moles, the moles are even worse than before and they turn light.
The nature of lesion can be determined by studting the biopsy taken from the lesion.
Consult your dermatologist for clinical examination, biopsy/ other relevant investigations and management.
