Brown Stain On My Molars Near My Gumline. What Should I Do ?
I have what looks like a brown stain on my molars near my gumline. I don t believe it could be a stain because it s VERY sensitive when it s touched. I haven t been to a dentist in a while, since I was pregnant 6 years ago. But I do brush 3 times and day and floss before bed. I am a smoker and I live on coffee, therefore I bleach my teeth once a month. I thought I ve taken extra care of my teeth, but I m noticed in the last couple of months that only the back ones hurt. When I have something cold, or hot, or touch the spot the pain is agonizing. I know I should see a dentist, but I do not have insurance.
Try some toothpaste with Novamin, or GC Tooth Mousse. Consider altering your diet as mentioned in Nagel's book to Cure tooth decay (based on Weston Price's ideas, see Weston Price Foundation online). Nagel's book is worth the $10 you buy it for in Kindle format.
I'm having the same problems and I'm trying to get my teeth to remineralise rather than getting it filled, only to have the problem reappear in 5 years.
Make sure you rinse your mouth anytime just after you eat.
Hi, as far as the brown stain is concerned, there could be a caries developing due to the demineralisation of the tooth, or there could be abrasion of the tooth due to hard brushing. In both the cases there is severe sensitivity. Please use a desensitising toothpaste like Sensodyne and a similar mouthwash eg. Senquel AD oral rinse. The senitivity will decrease gradually. You may need a filling or restoration. Please consult a dentist. Take care!
