Bump On Inner Thigh, Made Incision, Popped Pus Pockets, Skin Is Peeling. What Might Be Going On?
Hi my name is Christine. My aunt had a bump on her inside thigh three weeks ago, we went to the ER and they made an incision and popped a bunch of pus pockets and stuff. She was on medicine and everything and it started leaking again, but now her skin is peeling. Any idea what might be going on?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Your aunt has had an abscess which has been incised and drained. The skin over the abscess usually dries and gets peeled off. This is dead skin and you do not have to worry about it. If the bump is reappearing with collection of pus or leakage of pus, then I suggest you get a prescription for new antibiotics as she has not responded to the medications prescribed before. Keep the area clean and dry. Also application of antibacterial cream over the wound will help healing. Thanks.
