Bump On Throat, Does Not Hurt, Dark Phlegm. What It Might Be?

Hi - I m a singer, and just noticed a small bump on the very back of my throat , to what i believe to be is the Fauces? I ve had a lot of dark phlegm lately, and it doesn t hurt at all, but I don t like seeing anything near my instrument... its just a small circular bump, does not hurt to swallow . I am not a smoker, 28, female, healthy

I have gone through your query regarding bump on throat, does not hurt and giving dark phlegm.

After analysing and co-relating your symptoms it appears as you are suffering from chronic tonsillitis with pharyngitis. The bump you have seen is most likely enlarged tonsil and this may give rise to recurrent pharyngeal infection thus you may get dark phlegm.

To confirm this possibility you may consult your ENT doctor for clinical examination and investigation to confirm the diagnosis and relevent treatment.
