Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible from your description that the rash is a herpes rash however accurate diagnosis would require that the STD testing be repeated.
Genital herpes is normally associated with painful lesions. It usual starts as redness or a discomfort in the area, this progresses to small blisters which eventually ulcerate.

The rash would normally resolve on its own but the use of antiviral medication may speed up recovery.

i hope this helps
