Burnt Thumb With Hot Wax. Submerged In Cold Water. Why Won't The Pain Stop?
I burnt my thumb with really hot wax. I managed to get most off but the remaining bits wont come off without taking my skin with it. I've kept my thumb submerged in cold water for over half an hour but the pain won't stop and if I even think about taking it out my pain level rises from about 3 to 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. What can I do to take the pain away?
Hello.Immersing the thumb burned in cold water is not enough to relieve pain.It is recommended applying a cream that combines a corticosteroid and an antibiotic (for example betemethasone + gentamicin) twice a day 7 days.
Also Ibuprofen 600 mg thrice a day can be taken for treating your pain.
Please consult your local doctor for a prescription.I wish you good health.
