COPD Patient. Quit Smoking. Prescribed Mintek AB. Phlegm Forms Fast. Breathless, Coughing On Stopping Oral Steroids. Solution?

Hi, my husband us a COPD patient. Had been a smoker for nearly 50 years. He has quit the habit since two and a half years. At the moment doctor had prescribed Montek AB once a day at night. ..along with inhalers and nebulization. The phlegm forms fast and he is also on oral steroids very often. Within days of stopping the oral steroids he is coughing, breathless and wheezing again. Do you think the medication needs to be changed?

Hi, your husband is a chronic heart patient, (C.O.P.D. )It needs to be treated for the heart failure, by cardialogist , for decompensation, and hence the cough and wheezing.
So i advise you to consult a cardiologist for diagnosis and treatment. He should avoid salt, fruits, and cooling things. Thank you.
