Can 1-arginine Be Taken Along With Amlodipine And Klonopin?

Im a 52 y.o. man with high blood pressure taking amlodipine for that and klonopin for anxiety. I want to start taking l-arginine for circulatory health and general health benefits but my p.a. has suggested I be careful when taking it. What should I be concerned about if I do?Thank you,Steven Dugger. Oh,the klonopin doesn t seem to work as well as alprazolam which I was on before. is that normal?

hello user . Thanx for contacting HCm for your health related query . L-arginine is an amino acid that induces enzme NO(nitric oxide) synthase and can result in lowering of blood pressure , which can be significant keeping in view that you are already taking antihypertensives. so better to avoid , moreover with a healthy diet our body can synthesize on own and need not necessary to take supplements . regarding klonopin and alprazolam - see both are benzodiazepines class drug and similar efficacious if right amount of equivalent is prescribed - its that alprazolam has a shorter half life with quick withdrawal phase , and person becomes dependent on it quickly and whenvever a change of medicine is done , some discomfort is realised - but dont worry it will get over soon . hope it helps . take care
