Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have chronic atrial fibrulation, diagnosed 20+ years ago (I am a 49 year old woman). Today my cardiologist told me I have "Left Bundle Branch Block" and ordered a series of blood tests and an echocardiogram. I'm worried. Could I have sudden heart failure with these two conditions? I am taking Warfarin, Digoxin and Propranolol. My heart rate today was 113. Should I be worried? What can I do?
HI Well come to HCM The LBBBS and atrial fibrillation does not cause any emergency or death unless this greatly affects the cardiac system and causes infarction then and the this could be fatal else with the medicines the condition could be kept under controlled, hope this information helps.
Dear Sir/ MADAM Thanks for your query. Chronic atrial fibrillation is it self associated with development of heart failure, if not controlled well. Left bundle branch block is an electrical phenomenon, which may or may not be associated with heart disease. In fact,To look for structural heart disease your cardiologist have advised ECHO. Do not panic and wait for your ECHO. Sincerely Sukhvinder
