Can A-fib Cause Chest Tightness?

I have chest tightness and am taking plavix 75mg and coumadin 4mg. or 3.5 mg. I have an LVAD that is working properly and am checked at the LVAD clinic once a month. I also am in constant A-fib since November & the LVAD dr. told me that can be a cause of the discomfort, but I am still concerned. My husband doesn t want me to call the nurse, because he feels she will send me to the hospital for unnecessary tests. I get chest tightness almost every day & then it goes away but is very uncomfortable while it is there. Could it be coming from A-fib. Thank you in advance for your reply. I am 67.

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Chest tightness with history of Atrial fibrillation ( AF ) and LVAD should be evaluated for coronary artery disease.
AF is a risk factor for blood clotting and embolism. So we need to rule out coronary artery obstruction in your case.
So better to consult cardiologist and get done
1. 2d echo
2. Stress test
3. Coronary angiography.
If all are normal then no need to worry for coronary artery disease.
But better to consult cardiologist and discuss all these.
