Can Actalin Be Taken While On Levothyroxine?

Hello Dr...I am taking Levothyroxin now because I have used up my adrenaline gland as a youth and my thyroid has been affected. The Levothyroxin dosage is constantly changing according to my blood test results. Would Actalin help my endocrin system to balance out while taking Levothyroxin?

Levothyroxine alone is sufficient to treat hypothyroidism. Actalin is a thyroid supplement which contains iodine and other nutrients to restore your thyroid health. Levothyroxine is the treatment of choice for hypothyroidism which needs to be taken for life-long and there's no need to take any additional supplements to boost your thyroid. It is not going to benefit your thyroid in any way. To ensure you are getting the right dose of levothyroxine, monitor your thyroid status by measuring serum TSH annually once you are on a stable dose of levothyroxine.
