General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant and though it can cause weight loss. However, because of its potentials to cause addiction, and can be abused, it not advised for weight loss.

Diet and exercise are still the best policy to lose weight. The only drug approved for weight loss is Orlistat. Even that is risky when advised with exercises and diet. So personally I would advise not to take the drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
