Can Amitriptyline Be Taken While Suffering From Tourette Syndrome?

I am a WHNP and have a pt here in the office now with Tourettes Syndrome and states she has had migraine HA since age 15. She is currently 47. Is it safe to give her Amitriptyline for migraine HA s for short term until she gets in to see a neurologist?

Hello,

I think that in this case it is better to use an Ibuprofen until you have the possibility to go to a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
