Can Amoxicillin Be Taken During Breastfeeding For Abscessed Tooth?

Hi I'm a dentist with a mother of a two weeks new born in my dental chair ... she 's distressed due to pain from an abscessed tooth , obviously the mother needs an antibiotic but she's breast fitting. What would you recommend without any adverse reactions to the 2 weeks baby ? would Amox.500mg be safe ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain generally most of the medications are contraindicated in nursing mothers and in case if your patient is having an abscessed tooth you can advise her to take antibiotics like Amoxicillin 250 mg and painkillers like Paracetamol for relief..

As these medications are not commonly seen to cause severe side effects and considered safe during pregnancy and breast feeding mothers..
So these can be given safely..
