Can Aspirin Be Taken While On Plavix?

I had a heart attack last week and the heart doctor told me to take plavic. My regular dr told me to take an 81 mg aspirin but research says not to take aspirin nor antiacid with the meds. I also take hydrocodone for pain and a drop of Timolov in each eye twice a day. So should I leave the aspirin off and what antiacids are ok.

Hello,

Using Plavix in combination with aspirin may be more effective in preventing another heart attack, but this will increase your risk of bleeding.

So you need to talk to your doctor who has to take the final call.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
