Can Aspirin Or Acetaminophen Be Taken While Having A Temperature Of 100.4?

I am in bed ill with temperature of 100.4. Blood pressure 162/94. Headache, lower backache, nauseous, stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, hoarse voice. I take 10mg. x 3 daily of Parnate (MAOI). Can I take aspirin or acetametaphine to feel better (hopefully by dropping temp)

Hi, i do care for your concern.
Taking aspirin is not advisable.
Acetaminophen can be taken thrice a day to control the temperature.
Water sponging may also be used to reduce the temperature.
However from the symptoms mentioned above, taking antibiotic is also needed.
i would advise to consult your physician to get antibiotic and parnate dosage altered according to it.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Viral infection causing upper respiratory infection and causing the symptoms that you are experiencing..
You should take Acetaminophen or Tylenol to reduce fever and body aches..
Take decongestant like Phenylephrine for congestion, mucolytics like Ambroxol and do steam inhalation , saline nasal irrigation and use a humidifier in your room..
Take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Levofloxacin..
Take Vitamin C supplements..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Drink plenty of warm fluids..
Do warm compresses over chest..
