Can Atenolol And HCTZ Be Taken Together?

I just picked up my first Rx for Atenolol. I have a prescription for HCTZ but only take it when I notice swelling in my ankles. Should I take HCTZ every day now? I have the Rx for Atenolol because of irregular heartbeat mostly tachycardia, sometimes feels like heart skipping a beat. Thanks.Jena V Greene YYYY@YYYY

There is no adverse interaction between Atenolol and HCTZ. As both of them affect the blood pressure, exercise caution and monitor your blood pressure to ensure that it is at adequate levels.
