Can Azomax Be Replaced By Augmentin?

My son was prescribed a 5 day course of azomax and we travelled after day 2. Unfortunately, the azomax got left behind. Due to a lack of availability in the country where we now are, the doctor here has suggested a 5 day course of augmentin as a replacement. Is this the best solution or should we simply not take any action? I am concerned about discontinuing a running course of antibiotic but have no choice at this point. What are the drawbacks?
