Can Besivance Drops Be Used For Subconjunctival Hemorrhage?

I think I injured my eye yesterday when I felt something in it. Today it is sore and I have a broken blood vessel. Exudate from the eye as well. I have a new bottle of Besivance prescribed for cataract surgery earlier this year. Is it okay to use it until I can get to a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Besivance has an antibiotic in it and it may help with your symptoms if you apply it in your eye, as long as you are not allergic to it.
you can apply two drops in the eye three times a day. Wash your hands with warm water and soap before and after applying the drops. Avoid touching the eye otherwise.

If you are not better in 2-3 days or you are any worse or have any vision changes, please see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
