Hi,

Noted the history about your son having repeated chest congestion, need to take medicines almost every month and also have skin problems, you yourself have ecthyosis vulgaris hence your Doctor thinks your 2 year and 8 month old son has allergic problems.
I would advise you the following for your pediatric age son:
When in attack then get the opinion of a Pediatrician and a Pulmonologist for clinical evaluation, examination and get the necessary blood tests like IgE for allergy and all as advised.
get an X-ray of the chest to rule out any disease, Primary complex and so on and get a CT scan done if the X-ray is showing any particular problem.
Get the Vitamin A and D done and if there is any deficiency then a proper dose would help him for the respiratory as well as skin problems.
Take an opinion of a Dermatologist for skin condition to get an exact diagnosis.
Betnesol should be avoided in Pediatric age group as this is long acting and needs a prescription as well as alternative steroid when needed ; needs tapering of the dosages too.
No self medications please.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
