Can CPR On A Man With A Diseased Heart Actually Kill Him?
Can CPR on a man with a diseased heart actually KILL HIM rather than resuscitate him? One of my relatives doctors told him that if his heart stopped and they performed CPR on him, it would probably kill him! I never heard of anything like this? Is this true? EMT or other experience will help, thank you!

I have never heard of that. I have heard of someone with severe heart disease knowing if he coded in the ICU we might not be able to save him regardless of CPR and chemical intervention....but only because his heart was so weakened by illness...
Its a myth. CPR can be administered to a person who is unconcious. First the Airway is cleared, breathing i.e mouth to mouth respiration is performed and chest compressions are made. There is no literature data that can prove that a CPR on a diseased heart can actually Kill someone.
