Can Calcough Be Given To An Infant For The Treatment Of Cough?

Our nine month old baby has a cough that has not cleared for a bit now. It keeps her up and at times makes her wake up only to throw up every so often. We took her to the doctors and he felt that she wasn t so bad at all especially given that she was still having her breast milk and seemed a bit active than most. We came across a product called Calcough at ASDA and were wondering if it is safe for us to use to help with the cough she has at the moment.

Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that Calcough contains glycerol and there are very fewer chances of side effects until and unless your child is sensitive to its components. Using 5ml three to four times a day will reduce dry ticket cough.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
