Can Canesten Cream Be Continued For Bad Odor Post Recovery From Thrush?

Hello. I have been using canesten cream for my penis because I had a male thrush kinda thing. I was told to use it for 10 days morning and night. I then went travelling and missed a few applications but kept up as best as I could. The ten days are up and it seems by looking all back to normal. But there is a very strong smell still left...?? Should I use the cream again this time making sure I don t miss any applications or is it just natural?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. You should continue to apply the cream as thrush takes a few weeks to resolve. The odour will decrease with time and resolve as your infection goes away.

You may also wash the area often with clean water and dry it completely before applying the cream. It may help you with the bad odour.
