Can Ciprofloxacin Be Taken Twice A Day?

I had a tooth extraction Weds. with several injections and two stitches. I have diabetes type 2. Pain after 3 days and achy. I do not get along well with most antibiotics. Can I take ciprofloxin 250 mg. two times a day? I took it 10 days a little before the extraction because I had a swollen gland and achiness under the tooth.
