Can Clindamycin HCL Be Taken After A Dental Implantation?
Hi, my husband just picked up my prescription for clindamycin hcl after an implant at the dentist today. It's getting late and I would like to know if I can just wait to take it in the morning after some food, or do I need to start it immediately? Thank you.
You have got the implant placed, so it is highly recommended to start the antibiotic now itself..
This is because the chances of infection are higher during the initial phase of treatment, so risk should not be taken..
In case if there is infection then the risk of implant failure arises.. So my advise is to take your first dose of Clindamycin now.
If you have not taken food then you can take soft and semi solid foods like milk and bread, juice, soup etc and take your medicine.. Further doses should be taken as advised to you in the prescription...
Hope this helps..
Regards.
