Can Clobetasol Be Used On Open Wounds?

I have many wounds on my legs and arms. maybe 50 smalls one caused from my own scratching. some are open due to recent scratching. Some or thick or raises because of dueing it to the same wound over a long period of time. I have some traimcinolone Acetonide 0.1%. I also have some Clobetasol .05% ointment but I usually use the on closed wounds. Can I use this cream on all the wounds, even the red ones or open wounds. I have lots of scarring. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your complaints and would recommend you to apply clobetasol propionate cream mixed with a topical antibiotic like neosporin ointment on the open wounds twice daily. For severe itching take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg twice daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
