Can Clonidine Cause High Blood Pressure?

i was given clonidine in hospital and am now prescribed .3mg 3times a day but just got them filled its been 48hrs since i had one my ? is could that be the cause of me feeling my bp high and y was i prescribed it if ive had kidney failure and heart arithmia along with having low bp normally

Clonidiine is a antihypertensive drug cant cause high Blood Pressure .If i have to treat you i will not prescribe tab clonidine as it is not safe in renal failure. I will advise tab ramipril 2.5 mg twice a day, tab due to renal failure, tab metoprolol 25 mg twice a day for arrhythmia.
