Can Clotrimazole And Betamethasone Diproprionate Cream Be Applied On Broken Skin?

My mother s physician prescribed Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Diproprionate Cream for a yeast infection on her body (she s 97 years old). She has broken skin in the only area that is still not healed. Is it okay to apply this cream to broken skin? I ve been using it on the site but I don t want to further irritate it.

Hello,
You should not use steroid for any kind of infection. Because it increases the chances of flaring up of infection. So use only cotrimazole cream.
These creams are for external use only I.e. on unbroken skin hence don't apply on the open wound.
Take care.
