Can Crestor And Simvastatin Be Taken Together?

Due to my blood levels the nurse called and said I was to start taking Crestor 20mg. Every a.m. I am already taking Simvasti 20 mg every pm . I did not think to ask if I needed to Dc the Simvastin. Their office is closed for the the weekend . What are your thoughts regarding this. I see my doctor this coming Tuesday Thanks Pat

Hi,

Both are lipid-lowering agents. Simvastatin is atorvastatin and crestor is rosuvastatin. You need to stop one as both belong to the statin group and need not take them together.
