Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My cardi doctor doubled my Crestor from 5mg to 10mg about a month ago. Slowly I have developed unusual and sever chest muscle pain not associated with the heart. Also pain in my right arm. I was also very lethargic and on the verge of depression. Im usually upbeat and active. The pain became so bad I couldn't even stand up straight. I finally figured out to stop the Crestor. Seems to be getting a lot better four days later. Is this possible??
Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you! I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. The muscular pain you described is due to use of Crestor (Rosuvastatin), which in rare cases can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. See your doctor right away especially if you have unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine, meanwhile you should discontinue Crestor and the doctor may order some tests to evaluate the damages in muscles and kidneys. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Wishing you good health. ***KINDLY RATE AS HELPFUL***
