Can Deep Blue Essential Oil Be Used While On Warfarin And Metoprolol?

I have ongoing problem with allergies which cause a dry hacking cough. I take a generic of Claraton but it doesn t help much. I have been told that coughdrop containing a mineral oil, called deep blue might help. I want to know though if it is safe to take as I take warfarin and also metoprolol for atrial fibrilation. The two essential oils that are particularly contra-indicated are Wintergreen and Sweet Birch. They are usually used in sporting liniments and contain high quantities of Methyl Salicylate which is quickly absorbed and could potentiate the anticoagulant effects of Warfarin - which in turn could cause an internal hemorrhage.

One of the ingredients of deep blue essential oil is Wintergreen so use this oil cautiously and not for a longer period of time. You should also keep checking your INR values.
