Can Deviry Act As A Contraceptive Post Unprotected Sex?

I had unprotected sex 7 days ago after which I bled heavily for next 6-7 hours my gyneac prescribed me deviry for the abnormal bleeding and she was unaware of sex. Is there any chance for me of getting pregnant or deviry will work as a contraceptive??

Hi & Welcome.

Deviry is not a contraceptive pill.

It contains medroxy progesterone acetate that is used for the treatment of irregular menstrual periods, abnormal uterine bleeding and other conditions.

Since it does not work as contraceptive pill. You are required to to go for other contraceptive pill like I-Pill if you had an unprotected sex.

Remember to be effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy the I-Pill should be taken as early as possible but within 72 hours of an unprotected sex.

Since you had unusual bleeding for about 6-7 hrs following an unprotected sex 7 days ago, the chances of getting pregnant are almost zero.

Hope these answer your query.
