Can Donepezil, Omeprazole, Jantoven And Sertraline Be Taken Together?

My father is 84 and takes 10 different prescriptions. He is now in the middle stage of dementia and I think he is over medicated. Is there somewhere I can check his prescriptions against each other to see if one if reacting with the other. He takes: Omeprazole (dr 4) Donepezil (10 mg) Potassium (20 mg) Jantoven (2 mg) Rosuvastatin (5 mg) Sertraline (25 mg) Metoperolol (ER 25 mg) Losartan potassium (50 mg) Propafenone HCL (225 mg) Cartia XT (180 mg) Thank you. Gloria Hinkle (James Tyson is my father)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your father is taking these medications for different diagnosis and it is necessary, taking them. If you search in google, there is no specific site that has all possible interactions, you have to search and check one by one.If you check you will find that many medicines may interact with another, but this doesn't occur in all patients.

Your father is taking medicines for hypertension, heart disease (atrial fibrillation?), dyslipidemia and dementia, I guess. I suggest you to continue giving him these medicines and you notice any abnormal sign or side effect, then you should consult his doctor for any possible interaction.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
