Can ELISA Test Be Performed 72 Hrs After Having Mantoux Test?

hi,

i have just done my mantoux test and the test resulted in 30mm positive . post this i would like to check for any hiv infection or possibility of AIDS as my lymph nodes are swollen. hence want to know if it is safe to undergo a elisa test now which is 72hrs post mantoux test. need help urgent

Thank you for query.There is no possibility of getting false positive or negative because of your previous mantoux test.It is not going to alter the results of HIV results.You can go ahead with Elisa test for HIV without doubts.You can get back directly to me for any clarifications .Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist.
