Can Eliquis Cause Any Side Effects?

Hi my name is Rosemary DeRosa I was put on Eliquis about 5 weeks ago. This past week I am having severe abdominal and back pain. I had 2 CT scans. The first showed nothing. The 2nd one was with contrast but I do not know the results as of yet. I was given Oxycodone-Acetaminophen 5-325. This medicine did not even touch the pain. Can Eliquis be causing all of this pain.

1. eliquis (Apixaban) is used in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) to reduce the risk of stroke and blood clots and thus some of the information which is to be remembered is:

. It causes symptoms of nerve problems (BACK PAIN, numbness, paralysis, loss of bladder/bowel control), abdominal pain so consult your doctor immediately

. Do not change your dose or stop taking it without consulting with your doctor and follow his directions carefully.

. since it is a blood thinner so regularly check with blood parametres like: platelet count, bleeding time (BT), International Normalized Ration (INR) as it increases the risk of bleeding
