Can Flagyl And Fluconazole Be Taken With Ofloxacin, Cefadroxil And Ornidazole?

I have a cyst, I was given flagyl & fluconazole by a general physician. When I took the results to the gynaecologist, I was prescribed for ofloxacin & ornidazole tablets & cefadroxil tablets. Is it OK to take the later after the former? I forgot to tell the Gyna that I had been given some drugs already.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is a risk of interaction between ofloxacin and flagyl, both increase QTc interval of the heart which means that they can affect the heart rate. This would need to be monitored by you and your doctor.

Ornidazole is also similar to the flagyl so you would not likely need this combination.

It would be best to speak to one of your doctors about the different medications to determine which course should be used.
If you have completed the first course, then you can use the second but you should not used them concurrently

I hope this helps
