Can Flagyl Cause Severe Dehydration?

Please my mother aged 66 yrs are suffering from dehydration due to diahrrea the doctor describes flagyl oral suspension entragermina , ferroglobin and potassium, she has been using these drugs for 4 days her excrement now turned to red (like there is a blood in it) what we have to do?does this case because of the flagyl, thanks a lot

I can understand your concern.
Red color is mostly due to drug ferroglobin. So no need to worry for this.
Dehydration is not caused by Flagyl (metronidazole).
Her dehydration is mostly due to diarrhoea and poor oral intake of fluids.
So encourage oral intake of fluids like oral rehydration solution (ORS), fruit juices, vegetable soups, coconut water etc. Also give zinc and probiotic drugs for faster improvement.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
