Can Flexeril Be Taken For Insomnia.

i am looking for an alternative for my insomnia.i have tried ambien,(stopped working after 30 days),now taking eszopiclone(lunesta),does not work at all.i have had this condition since birth,now 62.been to many sleep clinics.lucky to get 10 hours sleep a week.i m so afraid of what this is doing to my health,not to mention my quality of life.a nurse friend suggested flexeril

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is not approved for sleep disorders. But it has been in use as "off-label" for insomnia. You can try flexeril but there is no definitive data on effectiveness and safety for insomnia use.
As other commonly used drugs are not working, you can ask your doctor for flexeril. You can ask for other alternatives like melatonin, ramelteon, suvorexant or phenobarbital.
