hello, im a male that had protected sex with a 34 year old female 16 days ago , during sex she was using her spit and masturbating, she did that multiple times, after sex she washed up and gave me unprotected oral, after we were done i realized that she might have had some vaginal fluid in her mouth from when she was masturbating, am i at risk for hiv? i did an antibody test at day 10 and it was negative, and rna quantitative test at day 14 and results didnt come back yet, how accurate is the quantitative test at 14 days?? thanl you
Ya, there is definite chances of getting hiv infection by oral sex.and antibody test is not useful in that period of 10 days. you may be in window period so that antibody may not developed yet. pcr is good one. you should go for confirmatory test after one month of interval from exposure. just relaxed. chances are very less that you test come positive.
if she is HIV positive than n than only chances of getting infection through unprotected oral sex HIV is transmitted through seminal fluid or saliva also but it is not always transmit
but if she is negative for HIV than no any test is require further if u want than go for p24 antigen study which comes early detection but always use protection when there is chance of infection thank u
