Can HIV Be Contracted Through Withdrawal Method Of Intercourse?

Hi, I have a question. I had unprotected sex with a guy once but he ddidn't ejaculate because I stopped it before he could get there. I just found out that this guy is into crack and other drugs of that sort and also that he might be HIV+. So my question is how likely am I to getting the HIV virus and also what are the chances of pregnancy. Thank you

Hello thanks for choosing HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. HIV transmission occurs by intravenous injections route, sexual route or by exchange of any body fluids, blood transmission, through mother to developing baby. So even if he didn't ejaculated into you still there is risk of transmission if we assume he was positive for HIV. He is taking drugs, takes crack so he is in high risk and if possible get his HIV status checked. If his status comes negative then there is no need to worry and try to use protection from next time. If status comes positive then report to a hospital immediately and discuss about post exposure prophylaxis. If proper prophylaxis is given at proper time then transmission can be prevented effectively. Medicines like Navirapine, Zidovudine etc are used for prophylaxis. Chances of pregnancy is less because he didn't ejaculate but still there is some risk.

Don't waste the time and if possible get his HIV checked.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
