Can HRT Be Resumed To Counter Hot Flashes And Night Sweats?

I am 63 years old, I suffer with hot flashes and night sweats and nothing seems to help. I feel like I am internally combusting. I know it sounds funny but it is the only way I can describe how it feels. I have tried all over the counter stuff to no avail still nothing works. Two years ago the PA I was seeing took me off my HRT I was taking because I was on it for more than 5 years. I have not felt good since. I want my HRT back, how do I get it?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to want relief from these symptoms but prolonged use of HRT has been associated with complications such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, stroke, deep vein thrombosis.

There are some women who use it up the 10 years but this is not typically recommended.

You would need to speak to your gyneacologist who would discuss the benefits and risks with you.

I hope this helps
