Can Hepatitis C Cause Diabetes?

Hi: I am currently on a 12 week treatment program for Hep C. Last night a friend who is diabetic, checked my blood sugar and it was 9.9. She said this was high. After researching, I discovered there may be links to Hep C and Diabetes. Should I be concerned?

Any virus, which is harmfull to the liver tissue also produce injury to the pancreas. But treatment to Hepatitis C is necessary to stop further iver damage.
Go for Fasting sugar and glucose tollerance test. Keep control on sugar and carbohydrate intake. Cardiovasculr excercises are also helpfull to reduce the injury to the pancreas.
There is old remidy of Aruveda " Eat two Green unripe banna daily in moprning after pealing it with knife. (You can not peel off the green banna without help of knife.)
