Can Hyaluronic Acid Supplements Be Taken For Persistent Skin Dehydration?
Hello, i have dehydrated skin condition since a long time. Apart from taking healthy, non oily, low carb diet, drinking 8-10 glasses of water, keeping skin moisturized after washing & applying sunscreen..my condition has improved a bit. I consulted a dermatologist who suggested to try hyalurinic acid supplements for inner hydration. My question is whether this will help & will it cause any breakouts since i m prone to hormonal acne?
Consuming hyaluronic acid supplements improves the skin’s moisture content, HA can improve the texture of your skin in 2 weeks. Drink plenty of water with oral HA. You can alternatively improve its production by eating a nutritious and balanced diet. All meats are rich sources, and Vitamin A helps. Citrus and other fruits high in Vitamin C and root vegetables help increase its level . Continuous HA production or supplementation is necessary because it has a half-life of three days, after which, it is broken down and moved out of the body.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vandana Khare
