Can Hydrocodone And Amoxicillin Be Taken Together?

Hello my son went to the dr today for a tooth ache and he had an infection and was prescribed Amoxicillin and he is in a lot of pain and i was wondering if he could take Hydros for the pain with the amoxcilian and he also takes ADHD meds my email is YYYY@YYYY

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM. As per your query your son has toothache and infection
and doctor has prescribed Amoxicillin along with Hydrocodone which is a very safe combination as both these drugs has no adverse interaction and it is safe to take these together.

Amoxicillin is given to subside infection as infection could exaggerate symptoms otherwise. Try to prevent over dosage of hydrocodone. Avoid giving sticky and sweet food substances to your son. Maintain proper hygiene by brushing twice a day. Visit oral physician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get X-ray done and start treatment accordingly.
