Can Hydroxyzine Be Used For Redness On The Face?
My 14 yr old son seems to be having an allergic reaction on his face. Its turned very red but he isn t sure why? the condition had been occurring for the past 7 days. About a week ago he was prescribed Hydroxyzine (antihistimine) by our internal medicine doctor

As per your case history of red skin on the face, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for seven to ten days. Hydroxyzine can be used, but it is more sedative than levocetrizine.
