Hi,

Yes, I-pill can be taken while on Primolut-N. Primolut-N is primarily used to regularize the menstrual abnormalities, dysmenorrhea, to postpone the menstrual bleeding, and endometriosis. It is not an effective contraceptive.

So, you can take I-pill as soon as possible but within 72 hours following the unprotected sex to be scheduled on July 16th.

If taken together with Primolut-N, I-pill can cause hormonal imbalance due to high doses of hormone in it resulting in some of the side effects like breast tenderness, headache, abdominal cramps but it will help in preventing an unwanted pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
