Can I Apply Topical Cream Instead Of A Shot For A Scorpion Bite?

Hello I got bitten by a scorpion and have numbness and tingling feeling in my leg where I got bitten, the numbness is going up my leg, is a steroid shot recommended? Would a topical cream work the same as the shot? ofcourse it would take a bit longer for the cream versus shot but would it do the same?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your question here, I will try to answer it to the best of my abilities.

No, a topical cream is not enough, go to the ER immediately or call for an ambulance. In all likelihood you will need antivenom injection.

I hope this helped.
