Can I Breastfeed While Having Eczema Scars On Areola?

I have had eczema on my breasts and i scratched them to the point where the skin on and around my nipple started to peel. Now it is gone, but has left my areola looking deformed. It has bumps (which i think are scars from all the scratching) I am 37 weeks pregnant and wondering if i can still breastfeed even though my areola looks weird?

hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion as you are 37 weeks now by the time of your delivery the eczema might heal.It is not any contraindication to breast feeding. But dending on the condition of the areola and nipple at the time of delivery the doctor might decide regarding breast feeding after physical examination.Dont worry.Apply enough moisturizer over the area to avoid dryness.
