Can I Continue Taking Normaxin For IBS If Stopping It Causes My Symptoms To Return And Worsen?

Hello I have ibs for the last 5 years.. recently a gestroenterologist suggested me to take normaxin for two months...... After two months he again suggested me to continue it for 6 more months.... 6 months is over.. so may I continue it bcoz if I stop to take it all of the previous symptoms come back and make my life like hell..
