Is it ok to drink a few beers while watching football on TV. Football and beer just go together. I have been diagnosed with CLL and currently undergoing chemo treatment at the University of Chicago. WBC count is down in the normal range and platelettes are on the rise. Bears play the Packers on Sept. 25. Would love to drink 4-5 beers and watch the Bears win. Wt. 294. Ht. 6'3". Age 59.
Welcome to H.C.M. My dear friend, CLL affects a person's ability to fight infection and so care must be taken to prevent infection. So try to prevent infection through hand washing, both you and those they come into contact with you.Avoid smoking and take enough sleep so that you wake feeling rested. Mild amount of drinking beer is allowed but always take caution about infection.Do not share your beverage with others and eat healthy food..It will help in reducing infection. Enjoy and all the best. You further question are always welcome. Thanx for query.
